In this role at Citizens, you’ll experience new things, create new opportunities, think beyond your role and make an impact! As the Finance Director, you will provide valuable financial leadership and direction for the Private Wealth Manager Team within Citizens Bank, playing a key role in it's current expansion and future growth and development. You will function as a trusted advisor to the head of the business line, leading a team that is responsible for the inorganic build of out of the Bank’s Private Wealth Manager business, including partnering with M&A to execute on Wealth Lift-out opportunities.  You will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the financial and operational plans to support the organization and driving performance and efficiencies to meet the business line commitments and objectives. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Significant element of this role requires partnering with the business and M&A to build complex financial models and projections that effectively integrate wealth and banking impacts as part of decision criteria to grow the Private Wealth Manager business at Citizens Bank.
  • Provide core finance leadership to direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance functions for the Private Wealth Manager Team.
  • Partner with the Head of the Private Wealth Manager Team to stand up and execute key business/finance routines for this newly established business within Citizens Bank.
  • Proactively guide, challenge, and influence business leadership on developing and delivering their plans, including budgets, forecasts, strategic plans as well as transformative internal and cross franchise projects.
  • Produce materials and lead reviews to ensure key stakeholders within the business and across Finance are aware of performance against plan, proactively identifying opportunities to mitigate risks and capture opportunities.
  • Address uncertain and complex financial and accounting reporting matters in conjunction with the Controller’s team.
  • Direct the monthly financial reporting, analysis, and planning for a sophisticated set of products – Wealth and Banking Products. 
  • Design, deliver and support great end-to-end experiences while creating a positive and high-achieving culture.
  • The finance director also plays a major role in the strategic planning and annual budget processes for this business.  
  • Manage a small staff of professionals. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Banking/Financial Services experience required.  
  • Wealth Management experience required and exposure to Private Banking experience desirable.
  • Deep/Robust experience building complex financial models and analytics in the wealth lift-outs space with proficiency in leveraging Microsoft Excel functionalities.
  • 10+ years of total work experience with 5+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing a team as well as cross-organizational projects required
  • Financial Budgeting, Forecasting and Modeling – Subject Matter Expert of processes, tools and techniques, ability to monitor performance and explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
  • Finance, Accounting & Systems – Extensive experience in finance and accounting practices and financial analysis. Monitors compliance with organizational standards for financial report writing.
  • Tactical and Strategic Planning - Creates and implements a strategy for supporting current and future business needs.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Financials, Ariba and Apptio a plus.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance / Accounting required
  • Masters Degree preferred
