As the Head of Corporate Banking Credit Risk, you will be responsible for oversight and credit decisions for a portfolio of client relationships that span emerging and middle market, mid corporate, investment grade, asset-based lending, leasing and select industry vertical commercial loan portfolios and related products or services.

This role is a highly visible senior management, leadership role requiring decisiveness and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to prioritize and operate in a multi-tasked and geographically dispersed environment both independently and expediently. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of geographically diverse credit officers supporting the Bank’s lending programs.
  • Recommend and maintain appropriate credit authority for credit team members and provide credit decisions pursuant to the Bank’s risk appetite and policy in support of the business.  
  • Business Partnering with assigned line lending units including constructive cultural integration and client solution coordination and as needed participation in targeted customer/prospect calls to objectively assess business models and management adequacy, and to facilitate efficient and informed credit decisioning.
  • Performing 2nd Line of Defense Portfolio Management responsibilities for assigned accounts. Included but not limited to problem loan early identification and management – directing and monitoring early-stage action plans consistent with informed patience doctrine member of the Watch Asset Review Committee. In partnership with Portfolio Management TLs, monitor delinquency, overdraft, over advance, ACH, documentation, and policy exception management.
  • Ensuring credit policy compliance and contribute as needed towards policy and procedure development, implementation, training and maintenance.
  • Contributing to important projects as assigned and/or independently identified, particularly those focused on risk management effectiveness, increased risk management or credit delivery efficiency, strategy and risk appetite optimization and company culture enhancing initiatives.
  • Contributing to internal CQA and regulatory exam coordination and management as it relates to assigned portfolios and related products or services.

Experience and Skills:

  • 15 or more years Corporate Banking Credit experience
  • Line-lending experience of ten years strongly preferred with broad knowledge of products and related risk issues.
  • Significant experience with credit authority and accountability on par with Senior Business Line and Portfolio Management Leadership. 
  • Relevant Restructuring / Workout experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with teams across functional boundaries to ensure efficiency of operations and effective risk management.
  • Willingness to adapt and respond appropriately to new demands, priorities, challenges, and obstacles.
  • Data driven and able to analyze metrics and trends, such as monitoring key metrics and data to evaluate performance.
  • Highly effective in establishing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator who can clearly articulate priorities and issues to senior management and teammates and to motivate and clearly communicate expectations to operations staff.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is Required; Master’s Degree is strongly preferred

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $290,000 - $435,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
