Description
Citizens Bank is seeking a motivated, independent, Business Banking Technical Sales Leader who is strategic and demonstrates exceptional leadership and coaching skills. This person is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of Business Banking FX Business Development Specialists and Corporate Payments Specialists. This role will focus on driving strategic growth initiatives, optimizing sales performance, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. It requires time in the field, working alongside team members during customer and prospect meetings, as well as engaging with Centers of Influence (COIs).
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to team members to enhance their sales effectiveness and product knowledge.
- Establish clear performance expectations, set goals, and track key performance indicators to ensure revenue targets are exceeded.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability to drive results and maintain a strong team dynamic.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market share and enhance customer acquisition.
- Partner with RMs and Market Managers to drive lead generation, customer engagement and retention, and deal closures.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the team remains competitive in FX and corporate payment solutions.
- Support team members in client meetings, sales pitches, and negotiations to optimize deal success.
Collaboration & Relationship Management:
- Work closely with the Market Executives, Market Managers, Global Markets, Credit Officers, Treasury Solutions Specialists, and other internal partners to provide seamless customer onboarding and relationship management.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine sales materials and customer engagement strategies.
- Engage in cross-functional projects to enhance product offerings and sales enablement tools.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure team members adhere to compliance standards, risk policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive operational efficiencies by improving sales processes, reporting, and pipeline management.
- Utilize data-driven insights to assess performance trends and implement process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business banking, treasury management, FX, commercial payments, or related financial services.
- Prior management experience with proven ability to coach and develop a high performing sales team.
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit card programs, foreign exchange, and cash management solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze complex client needs and provide strategic solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in pipeline management and sales forecasting, with proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- High level of financial and business acumen, with the ability to understand and apply customer-focused strategies.

- Willingness to travel to meet team and customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
