Citizens M&A Advisory, a division of Citizens Bank, is seeking a Director with specific sector expertise and transaction experience in IT Services. 

Citizens Bank has built one of the nation’s fastest growing franchises in M&A in the past few years.   As part of our strategic plan we are building out our M&A practice in sectors where the bank has particular strength with the goal of building nationally leading M&A verticals.

The Director is responsible for leading all phases of M&A transaction execution, as well as collaborating with industry-aligned Corporate Finance and Financial Sponsor Coverage “partners” to support existing clients and drive new business origination and prospecting efforts.

The Director plays an integral role in Citizens’ efforts to build a leading advisory position within IT Services and other responsibilities include strategic planning, hiring, developing and retaining junior bankers while fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence. This individual will also help to build the visibility and thought leadership of the vertical practice both internally and externally. 

Primary responsibilities include

  • Handling all aspects of client interaction, including directing and coordinating execution of transactions and has primary responsibility for developing, maintaining and generating strategic advisory revenue.
  • Working with relationship bankers, corporate finance industry sector bankers, PE coverage bankers and product specialists on transactions and business development.
  • Working with clients/prospects on idea generation and transaction development complementary with corporate growth strategies.
  • Prospecting and marketing to build an “inventory” of relationships with owner/operators and PE-backed companies
  • Actively participating in the development of junior bankers (hiring/onboarding, training and mentoring)

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience leading middle-market M&A transactions
  • 8+ years experience leading PE-backed transactions with an active knowledge of the relevant sponsor universe
  • Deep knowledge and C-suite relationships within the IT Services sector
  • Ability to lead and manage internal teams and external clients

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials 

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Masters Degree/MBA preferred
  • Securities Licensing required 

Hours & Work Schedule 

  • Hours per Week: 40 + 
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
