Citizens Bank is seeking a VP/Director level candidate to join the Portfolio Management team that supports Citizens’ Corporate Credit Securitization (“CCS”) business team. The CCS team is responsible for sourcing, marketing and underwriting commitments to portfolios of private credit and direct lender asset managers. This Portfolio Manager position will be located in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading all aspects of ongoing portfolio management of the CCS business, including:
- Analyzing portfolio metrics received monthly from the loan managers or agent banks on the pools of underlying assets securing the credit facility.
- Developing and refining data tracking methods to evaluate manager performance over time and comparatively within the portfolio.
- Working in collaboration with the CCS Collateral Management Team to outline underlying trends and address problem loans. Demonstrating good credit stewardship by proactively managing existing exposures including early identification of potential issues.
- Working in collaboration with the CCS Banking Team while underwriting new facilities as well as amendments and extensions to existing transactions.
- Working with credit partners and senior management to improve and refine annual reviews and portfolio reviews including determining what information is useful to be presented, in what format that allows business partners to understand credit exposures and risks in the business.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships internally, especially with underwriting colleagues and credit partners.
- As needed, developing data gathering databases to track underlying loans across funds, managers and Agents.
- Representing Citizens at due diligence meetings with loan manager clients, agent banks, and potential new syndicate lenders.
- Working independently, demonstrating strong leverage finance credit expertise, understanding leveraged loan market processes, knowledge of secondary loan market valuation and trading levels, and experience in corporate loan documentation.
- Understanding of collateralized loan obligation structures and mechanics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience at a commercial or investment bank with strong commercial credit experience and leveraged loan experience.
- Advanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit, presentation and organization skills.
- Strong PC Proficiency, Microsoft Office applications, and Credit Research Tools.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize, multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
Hours and Work Schedule:
Hours per Week: 40+
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
