Corporate Giving Data and Analytics Analyst 

Summary:  This position reports to the Director of Corporate Giving and requires a grants management operations professional with strong expertise in conducting detailed data analysis and reporting.  Also essential is the ability to develop and execute corporate giving processes, procedures and initiatives.  Additionally, this position requires excellent project management skills and strong knowledge of legal, risk and compliance issues related to corporate and foundation giving.  Administrator expertise in the CyberGrants (Bonterra) platform is preferred. 

Corporate Giving and Foundation Activities:

Manages corporate giving and Citizens Philanthropic Foundation (CPF) activities:

  • Participates in the development of corporate giving processes including the creation of annual timelines and executes key corporate giving review steps/deliverables leading up to Foundation meetings including assembling review teams, creating materials (presentations, agendas, dashboards, grant recommendation summaries, talking points) and preparing/distributing board packets 
  • Serves as a liaison between Citizens and the Investors Foundation to establish and execute consistent partnership routines for cogranting activities and to help further evolve the collaborative relationship between the foundations
  • Researches complex corporate giving and foundation legal issues as necessary to execute corporate and foundation giving and develop enhancements
  • Works with the Public Affairs team to ensure that contribution, sponsorship and grant recommendations align with our community strategy, are properly vetted and are in compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Supports governance activities such as investment management account reviews, standard operating procedure revisions, board member onboarding and preparation/submission of the annual IRS 990 to the IRS
  • Conducts Foundation budget spending and expenditure responsibility tracking

Data Management, Reporting: and Analysis

Manages community data and responds to ongoing and ad hoc data requests to support the company’s goals around our corporate giving, employee giving and volunteerism

Extracts data from our grants management / colleague engagement platform and creates reports utilizing excel, pivot tables and other tools and approaches to analyze data, identify key themes, trends, insights and articulate findings

Engages others as necessary to develop enhancements for our community reporting efforts

Corporate Giving Project Management:

Manages corporate giving projects and initiatives and contributes to the planning and development of new initiatives

Provides community guidance and advice to colleagues and nonprofit organizations for general and programmatic inquiries, develops resource materials and provides technical support for Community Portal transactions to colleagues and organizations

Serves as one of our CyberGrants grants management/employee engagement platform administrators, developing and implementing enhancements to our platform, i.e., creation of new portal pages, development of applications/forms/correspondence

Research best practices and current issues in corporate giving and foundation grantmaking and conducts benchmarking as necessary

Risk Management:

Collaborates with risk partners to participate in corporate giving and department risk management activities including control testing, vendor management, sanctions and negative news screening, ethics, corporate tax and more

Conducts due diligence and vetting on charitable contributions, grants, sponsorships, matching gifts and volunteerism to make eligibility determinations

Drafts and modifies policies, procedures and terms and conditions as necessary to manage risk


Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5-7 years in grants management, philanthropy and data analysis with a proven track record of delivering against goals and exhibiting sound judgment
  • Ability to think strategically, prioritize, plan and manage challenging projects within a fast-moving, changing, and complex environment
  • Strong analytical skills and experience, with the ability to quickly synthesize a large volume of data, generate reports and summarize key insights
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem solving and relationship-building skills
  • Motivated self-starter with detail-orientation and ability to see the big picture
  • Strong understanding of best practices in philanthropy is preferred
  • Administrator expertise in the CyberGrants (Bonterra) platform is preferred. 

Education:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
