Description
In this Technology Services - Risk and Finance Principal Data Analyst position, you will work with internal clients to understand, define and document business requirements.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting and translating business requirements into data requirements and linking them to mapping lineage documents used by developer colleagues.
- Identifying data gaps that may exist between internal client needs against available information housed with the reporting data mart or data warehouse.
- Profiling big data sources using SQL across a wide variety of different product “Systems of Record” to satisfy gaps in data requirements.
- Leading team member discussions to determine the best data source options, requirements gapping, expected data content profiling, and source/transformation/target mapping.
- Generating and documenting pseudo logic required to derive data attributes that need to be synthesized from existing base data elements.
- Providing instruction and ongoing support to developer/programmer resources to ensure mapping documentation is clear and well understood.
- Supporting others within the Enterprise Data Organization in their implementation and testing of expected data outcomes.
- Generating complex data queries to perform testing and validation checks as required to assist developers with production code migrations or post-prod validations.
Experience and Skills:
- 5-10 years of work experience as a Business Analysts in a large data environment
- Strong analytical and systemic thinking, problem solving, and SQL skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation skills
- Proven technical Documentation skills— using MS Office 365 Suite
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to completion
- Self-Starter comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Desire to learn emerging methods and technologies and wanting to stay on top of latest ideas within the logical mapping design and development discipline
- Experience with the following a plus, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, Dbeaver, AWS Redshift, Athena, SAS
- Working knowledge of Aqua Data Studio or comparable query tool to analyze data in a variety of DBMSs (Database Management Systems)
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, OIM (Operations and Information Management), Computer Science, or Mathematics.
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM
