Description

The Asset Based Lending (ABL) Senior Portfolio Management team member is a senior level professional position.  This professional is responsible for all aspects of portfolio management including transaction structuring, underwriting, credit approval, portfolio monitoring and problem loan identification for a portfolio that may consist of core ABL, retailers and lender finance clients.  ABL is a product for the bank. The ABL team is active on sponsor and restructuring credits as well.  

This position will report to an ABL portfolio team leader.  In addition this senior team member will: 

Prepare and approve credit requests providing critical views on the business, amendments and restructures

Assesses credit issues, performance and industry trends, appropriateness of structural terms and conditions, compliance with policy and underwriting guidelines and provides recommendations to improve structure and mitigate risks

Review and help on-board new ABL credits

Help mentor more junior portfolio managers and analysts within the ABL group.

Assist in achieving satisfactory or better ratings from Credit Review and Compliance and meet compliance targets for annual reviews, risk ratings, and covenant compliance monitoring.  

Liaise with portfolio management team leaders, credit risk and workout colleagues on deteriorating credits

Partner with product and operations units including loan operations, cash management, derivatives, corporate card, leasing, to proactively manage issues so that revenue opportunities are maximized and customer satisfaction is maintained


Qualifications

15 plus years Asset Based Lending senior portfolio management experience with sole bank, agented and club transactions.

Notable experience in work out, including liquidation of challenging ABL credits is highly desired

Balanced approach to enable focus on both business unit goals and risk management objectives

Strong understanding of general credit and risk principles, mitigants, and banking policies and procedures 

Skilled at developing and implementing both strategic and tactical solutions in support of structuring new and existing ABL credits

Able to multi task and function under pressure to meet deadlines

Strong  written and verbal communication and negotiation skills

BA/BS degree, and/or MBA preferably in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting


Hours and Work Schedule

Hours per Week:  40  

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday
