Legal Solutions Manager

This role will serve as the technical solution expert for the Legal Department, recommending, designing, and implementing solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Strong candidates will have a practical understanding of how corporate legal departments function and have a high degree of technical fluency to help develop solutions to improve efficiency. In addition to deep familiarity with and strong knowledge of available legal technology solutions, the candidate will have the expertise, in partnership with IT, to utilize internal technology available (i.e., SharePoint) in order to design internal solutions. Candidates must have a genuine interest in and curiosity about legal technology and how technology can improve efficiencies within a Legal Department. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the Legal Department. 


Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Act as Legal Department technology solutions expert bringing ideas to elevate the department’s ability to operate in an agile manner

  • Partner with Legal teams to understand and assess technology needs

  • Lead design of SharePoint based legal technology solutions to increase collaboration, improve efficiencies

  • Lead redesign of Legal Department intranet

  • Improve existing Legal Department SharePoint site, driving increased usage

  • Create tools, utilities, workflows, and processes to support the technical needs of the legal department

  • Collaborate and act as liaison with IT on Legal projects, in partnership with Legal Project Management

  • Responsible for driving innovation and creativity around technical solutions, and engaging the team leaders to support the same

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:
  • 8-10+ years relevant experience working in Consulting, a Law Firm or other Corporate Legal Department
  • Relevant technical expertise
  • Creative mindset and an ability to find solutions
  • Intellectual and technological curiosity to find out “how things work”
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to partner across the department to understand obstacles and deliver solutions
  • Experience with SharePoint design
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Exceptional work ethic and professionalism 
Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree 
Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40 Hours
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
