Day in the Life of Katie, License Banker
Katie wears many hats. Throughout her 8-year career at Citizens Bank, Katie’s responsibilities have shifted but the day-to-day energy and pace has remained. Now as a Licensed Banker, her role requires her to consult, sell, and source new leads.
“One of my job responsibilities is to provide financial planning for customers. It’s crucial that each customer I interact with knows the benefits of using Citizens Bank for their financial planning needs.”
In addition, each day Katie and her team of Licensed Bankers are motivated to generate revenue via Citizens Bank products and services.
“We’re tasked with generating recurring revenue, which require selling bank products, such as checking, savings and loan accounts.”
To support her in generating this revenue, she relies on her branch team support system.
“The branch team is an important role to the success of a Licensed Banker. I work with the bankers and tellers to help uncover opportunities for investments. It is key to have a great working relationship with the bankers in the branch so that they feel confident in sending investment leads to me.
The partnership with the Financial Consultant is also important, a good working relationship with him or her will result in higher productivity and sales.”
Citizens provides a diverse career path for colleagues. This support system is one of the main reasons Katie has built a career with Citizens.
“It’s nice to have a company who stands behind their employees, develops their skills, and helps them build a career they can be proud of.”
Katie offers this advice to anyone considering a career with Citizens Bank:
“Before committing to the testing this job requires, be absolutely certain that you want to pursue a career in providing financial advice. Those who succeed and do well are the colleagues who want this to be their career. Remember that it takes time to learn and grow in the position, so give it time and don’t give up. Always keep pushing forward.”
